Forest River Roof

We are looking at a 2015 Forest River X-Lite travel trailer. The trailer has had very little use on the road, mostly sitting still. Everything looks great except when I inspected the roof from where the front cap meets the rubber roof back about 3 feet or so the rubber has lifted from the roof. Not all the way but it is bubbled up in about half a dozen places and is loose from the roof. The seam on the front cap has been resealed due to a leak, the wood under it seems to be fine and not rotted and no evidence of a leak on the ceiling inside. My question is will this hurt anything or will it just lay there loose. The rubber roof is in great condition with no evidence of sun damage or wear of any kind. Do I need to be concerned?
  • When on the road, the roof material will probably balloon up. That may lead to more coming loose, or not. If the price is right, it wouldn’t bother me as I would fix it.
Maybe have a mobile tech look at it to allay or confirm any concerns.
  • The rubber can be cut and pulled back to inspect the roof, then reglued and sealed with Eternabond tape.

What DRSteve said. I would be very wary though....
Plenty of places water can go that you will not be able to see till you tear it all apart.
  • I would not purchase any trailer that had a suspect roof, the integrity of the interior is dependent upon a well maintained roof.
