Found a long bed TC hauler.

After 6 weeks of searching we found a "05" GMC Sierra 2500HD SLE 6.6 Duramax Diesel, what do you think?

I think the truck you've found is just right, especially if it fits your needs and you are happy with it. As for the sarcasm and negative response/inputs; I bet there would be a lot more participation from others if there were less of it. Happy Truck camping!

I think it's a great choice for hauling your pop top. It will be a night and day difference from your 1/2 ton. If you like it and suits your needs and budget.

You will love the D-Max. That style of tow mirror is prone to "not always extending or retracting". They are power extend/retract.

You can always upgrade to the 06+ style of tow mirror.

Agreed. This forum has gotten worse in the last few months with people posting sarcastic remarks, and other such posts that do nothing other than clutter up a thread.

I have a 1500 sivlerado with a 1460lb camper northern lite on it, just upgraded the springs, shocks, brakes and tires, mine does the job, dot in Canada says its legal, insurance says it's legal gets 18mpg imp.gal not complaining

Thanks for the comments and well said Grit dog, the TC is a "j" series pop top and it does weigh 1460 lbs, we got the truck for the long bed and to pull the 17'5" alumacraft behind it with the TC in it, I might have to do a bit of suspension mods.

(And for the naysayers, the buyer of my AF 860 pulled up in the same truck, not technically the same exact truck for the nit pickers here.......And he drove away with it happily and promptly took it across the Denali Hwy. guess what? It didn't implode, explode, crash or otherwise do harm to anyone or anything. Yes it was overloaded, about the same as on my truck.)

I'm just going by what the OP said. He stated that his camper weighed 1460 pounds. I don't know if he has a helium balloon or not.
