Fresh water tank

Get a water bladder leave it in the back of TV and pump it into fresh water fill. The link you used is not for fresh water water but rather for Grey or black water.

We boondock a lot. I bought a 45 gallon water bladder made specifically for potable water.

I bought a Shur-Flo pump (just like the one in the RV, a spare if you like) and put hose connectors on it, and battery clamps on the wires.

I can, and have, filled the water bladder at a remote faucet, then hooked the pump to the hose from the bladder and pumped the water into my fresh water tank. Works like a champ.

Was initially thinking small 'fountain' pump, submesible (not self priming). I have a spare RV pump, bulky/heavy but I think 'sucks' (self priming?). Would run 12V 'outlet' to near the fresh water tank filler (and short cable with connector on the tote).

Do you use the water in your tank? Or are you like most, pump it out of tank, then use it?
Need a pan of water? Pour it out of the container. Save the water in tank for stuff like shower and what must come thru heater.
Of course, you might think about ways to use less water...

Get a battery operated transfer pump. $25 at most do a search on Amazon.

For a test (just throw into the tote), ordered this one:
AsFrost Fountain Pump, 520GPH Submersible Water Pump, 30W Outdoor Water Fountain Pond Pump with 6.5ft Tubing (1/2" ID), 7.2ft High Lift

The sure flow would require big diameter/stiff/bulky hose. Would probably put a garden hose connection on the tote, short hose to sure flow, then garden hose threaded connection from sure flow into fresh water tank filler.

And 12V connections.

we dry camp a lot and often need more water. Solution:

1) install a second water pump in the pass through plumbed to the fresh water inlet with a long extension and dip tube on the inlet side and a power switch
2) fresh water in the blue 7ish gallon water tank
3) insert dip tube, turn on pump, empty tank, repeat.

Most places we dry camp have a water source somewhere, so we just refill the 7 gallon jugs as needed. For the few that don't 4 of the 7 gallon tanks plus the 35 gallons on board will last us for a full stay of a week or more.

Not clear about 'pass through plumbed to fresh water inlet': where is this 'pass through' running to/from? Where do I find it?

Or are you saying tap (T or Y) into the filler line and run a 2nd pump, discharge INTO the filler line and run long suction hose from the 2nd pump out/down to reach the 7 gal?

My boondocking water kit. Throw the tote in the truck and go. Has everything except the hoses, that live in the TT anyway. The blue thing is the 45 gallon potable water bladder.



The pump, showing hose connections (both male), switch, and fuse. I have an SAE connector on there because I have an SAE supply on the trailer, and battery cables with an SAE connector. I can power the pump either way.

That is what I could envision also. Male/Male (garden hose adapter from pump ???? thread to garden hose male thread) on pump.
Discharge (fill hose) existing fresh water garden hose.
Short suction (garden-) hose to stick into tote?
