Fridge storage

That's the first time I've heard that and I have stored my trailers outdoors for 6-7 months every winter. I haven't had any trouble with them.

I have never read that before - interesting though.
Our TT has sat for 6~7 months out of every year for the past ten years without any harm done.

Nothing would be harmed by starting in cold weather but no need I've ever heard of to start it up when stored either. No moving parts in an absorption fridge so hard to imagine what the benefit of starting would be.

As soon as you start heating up the 'fluid' and it turns to 'vapor' then turns back to 'fluid' it should be mixed/stirred up.

Wonder how inventory gets operated.

Ours has sat for longer than that with no ill effects noted. Can't imagine the RV dealers who often carry RVs on their lots for months on end making the effort to do this. Of course it wouldn't hurt to do it either, really your call on this one.

I talked to a Dometic refer specialist recently and was told ideally to start it up once a month for about 30 minutes.

OK.....it's a writers opinion that starts off saying '....can cause' but then switches to 'It's possible....'.
Thought maybe it was from a mfg.

Not a bad idea.
But then you get into the debate of thermal cycles and whether it's better to turn them ON/OFF or leave them ON so the cooling units aren't heating up/cooling off causing fatigue.

What to do, what to do......????

I don't know about any of this stuff saying you need to run your fridge once a month, but I've not done that on my 2003 TT with a Dometic fridge EVER..

I'm only a "fair weather" camper, so my TT sits more than it's in use and when it's stored for winter, it's off from the end of Sept to sometime in May.. It has always cooled down and I shut it down between camping trips between May and Sept..

Do what you think is best, but I've never heard of that and my fridge keeps my beer cold every summer, so there you go! :)
