- claymccExplorerWell that's just too cool - a camper AND a boat towed behind a bullet bird!!
Ship in molasses - good description - I always tell people they drive like a sofa. I've got a Piper Saratoga that taxis the same way.
My pride and joy is a car that my Dad bought new just before he left Ford, gave to my mom a year later, and was my mom's minivan when I grew up - a '66 silver rose TBird convertible, 428, A/C, power everything. I still have it and drive it often in decent weather.
- Clay - joerg68Nomad IIIWow... just Wow!
The TC does seem to have something like a tag axle. It might just work.
They even have rear view mirrors. On both sides.
- Joerg - Wanderin_foolExplorerYeah, sofa works. I would think this is completely unsafe, but people used to drive a bit slower in the sixties. I can only imagine backing down the boat ramp,,what a crowd you would have!
Clay, are you on any of the tbird facebook pages? There are a few good ones. ITC is a good one that I got this from. Frank - Dave_PeteExplorer IIThunderbird? What Thunderbird? I want to know what kind of camper that is. ;)
- Reddog1Explorer IIInteresting setup. Kinda makes you wonder if in times past they build stronger vehicles, or ignored the door weight stickers. It is also possible they had better engineers and fewer attorneys. It looks like it would be pretty comfortable. I would be nervous with the tires though.

I wouldn't think it safe either, especially considering the brakes on that vintage TBird - and it's not like they have great ground clearance to carry the weight.
No, I'm not on any of the FB pages, haven't hung around any TBird fora for years eithers. I'll check out the ITC page though!
- Clay - Wanderin_foolExplorerGood points Wayne. We all know life used to be simpler back when. yeah, drum brakes all around, and already a 4000+ pound car. Maybe the tag axle has some kind of friction brakes like a bicycle?? :)
- JfetExplorerThe question is, how many slides does it have?
- Wanderin_foolExplorer:B
- joeshmoeExplorerAnyone notice the person sitting in the cabover?
