We have bodiak front hitch and works great. We sometimes put bikes up front or wood depending on the trip. As you said it leaves the back door with easy access. However, the powder coat is chipping. My suggestion to DH was to sand blast it and then put line-x on it. DH thinks I am crazy so haven't done anything about it yet.
