I used a grinder and cut slots in the threads before installing the valve and it drains just as well as removing the OEM plug.
Fumoto did at one time offer a hose clamp that fit in the groove of the lever and prevent it from being opened. Works well, but as someone else commented, who is going to crawl around someones' truck to open the valve. :h
