Furnace not working first time out. It was a hundred degrees when I did the walkthrough.I dont remember if the guy showed me the operation. I have a suburban furnace. Not sure if I need to do anythin...

Depending on the thermostat...many have a small plastic on/off lever that needs to obviously be set to on for use. Then you can adjust the sliding needle to the temperature that you desire for use. When you are done your trip select the furnace to off so it doesn't run in storage.
Were you able to use other propane appliances? If so then the air should have been purged out of the lines allowing correct furnace operation. Once you do get it running you can expect some smells and possibly even your detectors going off as construction dust/oils etc from the build process "burn off".
