Furnace question

So our new to us TT has a ducted furnace. My question is that my wife said she turned it off which turned out not to be true but she did turn off the gas. I came home for lunch and noticed the furnace running with no gas. Is this a normal thing? I would have thought it would quit if it didn't fire.

Thank you so much! I told the wife to shut it off but the little switch is so hard to click over, she must have not switched it to off. Thanks!

If the system does not ignite and the thermostat
remains closed, the blower will remain on until the
thermostat is reset manually

What Brand/Model is your furnace? Depending on that info whether it is normal for your furnace or not!

Its an Atwood 8500-IV?

Some will shutdown and make no attempts on loss of main flame

Some will shutdown gas valve, makes no attempts to relight and allow fan to continue running and running and running

What Brand/Model is your furnace? Depending on that info whether it is normal for your furnace or not!

That happens to me when I run out of gas. The fan blows cold air and the ignitor tries to light it on occasion.

That is the blower running, with no heat because the gas is turned off.
