Gall Boys trying the Caravan Torture test
After a four year wait the much-anticipated 10th video adventure from the testosterone-filled family behind Queensland’s Kedron Caravans is set to hit the shelves.
This time the intrepid crew – father Barry and his four sons, Peter, Glen, David and Ashley – have banged and crashed around the gnarly tracks of Outback Queensland, dragging a latest Kedron TopEnder off-road tandem axle van behind the latest Toyota HiLux and Fortuner.
According to Glen Gall, the long period since the last DVD was caused by a number of factors, including a factory move, change to a new in-house engineered suspension, and waiting for the opportunity to test new products including the latest TE’5 Top Ender model (due for release at the Brisbane Caravan Show in June) and new Toyota ute and SUV.
The latest DVD, due for release by early June, covers a trip from Brisbane up through the Sunshine Coast and on to Fraser Island, through central Queensland including the challenging CREB Track, and up north to Cooktown, Silver Plains and along the axle-busting Old Maytown Track.
As can be seen from the trailer below, production quality of the latest movie is expected to be a little less ‘rough and ready’ than previous efforts, although still expect the usual campfire shenanigans, tense arguments around bogged rigs and more than a few ‘scrapes’ that according to Glen Gall, only resulted in "minor cosmetic damage".
As well as DVD ‘hard’ copies, the 10th Gall Boys movie should also be available for downloading online through channels such as iTunes, to cater to increasing overseas audience (there have been more than 12 million Youtube views of clips from the films, which date back to 1999).
