  • It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Just because there is a CA suit doesn't mean it's wide spread. It just means that the lawyers think they have enough leverage to bring suit. These transmissions have been around long enough and I'm on several RV and truck forums. I have not read about complaints. That's not to say there isn't a problem, but I wonder how big it really is?

    This may be similar to the DOD issues in the 5.3 from 2007-2009. Lifters would collapse and have to be replaced. When I dug into it I found that it really only affected a small percentage of motors. Mine has a 160k on it and I've never had lifter problems.
  • Interesting, I heard a while back of a Canyon owner complaining about his transmission but I didnt know it was that widespread. So wife’s got a friend with a 2016 Camaro V6, I don’t know if it’s an 8 speed or 6 speed but will let her know. Thanks for posting.
