- monkey44Nomad IIJust called my service dealer - he said this issue is only 1500's, not 2500 or 3500 ... Bulletin issued Sept 6th
- JIMNLINExplorer IIII just had the Vacuum pump replaced last month in the wifes 2016 1500 chevy 5.3 6L80e tranny under warranty. Since new it had the brakes disappear such as making a stop and go 2-3 point turn around in a parking lots. The brake pedal goes hard and won't stop.
Driving at road speeds was no problem.
Guess I'll drop by my area GM dealer and see about the reprogram. - 97chevorExplorerI know of a problem with the 2011 and newer HD trucks, Brakes. Me being in a Northern state. The bottom caliper slide pins can seize to the caliper. I had to replace 3 calipers on my high mile 2013.

supposed to be needing more pressure in parking lot speeds. No big deal next time I go in it will be for a trans flush they can reprogram then it only takes a few minutes.
Do you have a vacuum pump? You should have hydroboost like me. My 1 ton gasser's VIN does not come up needing the recall as it has no vacuum pump - tomman58Explorersupposed to be needing more pressure in parking lot speeds. No big deal next time I go in it will be for a trans flush they can reprogram then it only takes a few minutes.
- gmckenzieExplorerYou won't have the vacuum pump on the HD series as they don't use the cylinder deactivation (V4 mode). The pump compensates for lower manifold vacuum when in V4 mode (or at least that is how it was explained to me).
My truck was reprogrammed last week. - ls1mikeExplorer IIIt looks like it is a work around for the vacuum pump.
My 2017 gasser is not part of the recall. It does not have the subject vacuum pump.
I know gas 2500s and 3500HDs don't use the pump.
