- dockmasterdaveExplorerI've been pretty disappointed with the build quality I have seen on the new models at shows. They are falling apart at the show, pieces missing, trim hanging loose.
I think we will keep ours or try to find an older model in great condition.
I can pretty much fix anything that goes wrong, but that is not what I bought it for. I have enough projects. The RV is to escape from them. - stevemorrisExplorerbuilt cheaply imho, had one, wasn't impressed, replaced it with an older kz, much better built
my 3400 lb 24 ft had 7 inch brakes, no light switches, flimsy cabinets, bouncy floor, had to rebuild the bed are to hold up 2 adults - frisbeekevExplorerWe had a 248bh and it was a great starter trailer. I was not too impressed with the build quaility. It was never anything I couldn't fix myself like trim, etc... Other than the little things I never had it in for service.
- dockmasterdaveExplorerWe've had an Amerilite 21 MBLE for over 4 years and a lot of trips, with no problems at all related to construction or materials.
I have made a lot of improvements and modifications, but no defects.
Yes it is an entry level but, I read about a lot of people having their unit in for service multiple times and for major defects, while I'm sitting at a campground.
Simpler is not necessarily inferior, sometimes it just means, less to go wrong.
No matter what you get, keep ahead of the maintenance. Smaller problems are usually easier and cheaper to fix. - boosTTExplorerThey are cheap and on the lower end quality wise.

We are considering purchasing a gulf stream ameri lite super lite. Does anyone have anything to say about the quality and functionality of this brand? Good or bad. Thanks!
We look at them and almost bought one, they're a fine entry level trailer. After ours was sold while we were working out financing with our credit union we kept looking and ended up with the KZ in my signature. Ended up working out for us because we ended up with a nicer unit for nearly the same price ($600 more AFAIR). The KZ had cabinets over the bed instead of a shelf, a bigger fridge, the upgraded 13.5 AC vs the window style, more headroom (big for me since I'm 6' 3"), and sturdier bunk beds (in the Amerilite my older boy was going to have to be on the bottom bunk due to weight carrying but it was going to be tight due to him being 6'). - LwiddisExplorer IIJohn, a 199dd TT isn’t an Ultra Supreme.
- Johno02ExplorerWe have been driving a Gulf Stream product for several years now, and have always been well pleased with the quality. Over the years we have found a few small things, like the water heater was almost impossible to replace, but generally it seems to be a well built, quality vehicle. Other than that, I know nothing about the towables.
- LwiddisExplorer IIFor RV park camping, dry/boondocking or both? Where will you all sit if inside for an evening? Booths become uncomfortable quickly. Thirty gallons of fresh water isn’t enough for even two people dry/boondocking. No sink in bathroom. Shave and wash hands in kitchen after potty visits? 760 pounds of cargo is next to nada. Single axel trailers are tuff to handle when a tire blows. Carrying thirty gallons of fresh water will use 248 pounds of the TT’s capacity BTW.
