Hi all I live where the fires occurred in California. I was walking thru the local Hampton parking lot and saw this. Wow!
Why they allow Australian Eucalypts ( Gum Trees) to spread through the California forests is beyond me. They burn like Napalm when they ignite - ScottGNomadWow.
- buckyExplorer IIDid the chrome on the grille reflect the heat or did he replace it?

Because they are pretty and smell nice.... :/ The way those things burn is crazy. People are so out of touch with reality, they think if there is a wildfire, they just dial 911 and a dozen fire engines will be there in 5 minutes to protect their house.- Jerrybo66ExplorerThe paint doesn't seem to be bubbled. ??????

I understand the railroads brought them in to grow railroad ties. Turned into a bust because the wood twists as it drys and ages. They were also used as a wind break to prevent citrus from freezing. Yes they burn hot and fast.

- stsmarkExplorerThere really aren’t many Eucalyptus around here. Mostly Oaks and Redwoods, 50- 100 year wind event (some weather stations a few miles from the source recorded 75 - 95 mph) is what started it and had it moving so fast. It was moving about 2-3 miles an hour in the rural areas and once it hit neighborhoods, jumped house to house really quick.
