Funny you should mention that. This summer we will be staying in a church parking lot but only for a couple days while at a pastors conference. But we're looking forward to using these gens throughout the summer.

Sweet deal!! I bought our 2000 10 years ago with the intention of buying a second one down the road...I have been looking on and off for a second 2000 and these things really hold their value! Used ones are rare and the ones I have seen are half beat to death and they still sell for $500+.

The payoffs are times like when we boondocked in a church parking lot for 10 days this January and ran the genny a lot because of furnace use...conversation with the Pastor after Sunday services and I thanked him again for letting us stay, and he commented that "You guys are so quiet nobody hardly notices you are there." I said, yes and we wouldn't even be running the generator so much if it wasn't so cold, to which he replied "You have a generator?"

I made a parallel kit for my two eu2000s from two appropriate amperage power cords with male ends and a 30 amp RV female receptacle connected in an electric safe box. Cost was minimal and it works the same as Honda's much more expensive kit.

This is referring to the piece that fits onto the Honda EU2000i generator that allows 30amp RV connections. That's the best price I could find on Amazon.com

I think it's definitely possible to find it cheaper if you look around but sometimes shipping cost consumes the decrease in price.

That is almost as good a deal as I got. $500.00 for my 3 day old (I was with the person that bought it while at Pismo when his Onan fuel pump went out) EU2000.

FYI, before buying my genny last year I visited a local pawn shop who had one on hand. I took a photo of the SN and called Honda when I got home to check on the manufactured date. The combination of age and asking price took that unit out of consideration.

I'm toying around with the idea of picking up a parallel kit if I can find a bargain. Then I'll rent a 2nd EU2000i from HD or Lowes if I think I'll need air conditioning on a dry camping trip.

You didn't "steal" them, but that's a very decent deal indeed. Same as new, but a good savings.
