OP, when you get your tires changed, have them check the max PSI your rim is rated to handle. I bet your Load Range D tires are actually rated to 65, as 80 PSI is usually in LRE tires.
I'd think your 14" rim is rated to 65 PSI, and I would air them up that high. The stiffer your tires, the better your overall experience will be. They will flex less when traveling, making them stay cooler and last longer. You will also experience less sway with less flex in your tire.
How can I check the pressure my rims are rated for?
