bushrat - nice setup. I'm laughing to myself because our first TT was 19' - followed a couple of years later with a 25' - followed a couple of years later with a 29' - followed by a 32' and now we have a 35' fifth wheel. One thing we found is that the longer the easier to backup. We towed those TT's with the same F250 V10 and initially towed our fifth wheel with it, till just recently upgrading to the DRW.

This is my newer to me TT, it's a 36' 1993 Skyline Nomad w/ a slide out. It's been great to have all that room, our last one was a 24'.
I made a pvc side rail for the upper bunks after the first night sleeping in it, our oldest (9y/o) fell out in his sleep. He wasn't hurt, infact he didn't even realise he fell he was in such a deep sleep. Since installing the side rails we had no more problems.
Your skyline has a very similar interior to my 31 ft Skyline Layton. I didn't know they made a model like this with a slide in the early 90's.
Mine doesn't have a slide but it's interior is also like new.
Exterior. Not so much.
I do have a few q's for you. What is the gvwr and what do you use to pull it?
Congrats on the new TT and good luck on the roof redo. I have heard that you can get the EPDM from a roofing supply store much cheaper that from a RV dealership. Mine will have to be done in the near future too.
Thanks!
