Has Highland Ridge RV/Open Range RV improved its quality since Jayco took it over and changed the name to Highland Ridge. Why did they change the name? Their campers and RV's still look very good. ...
In general Open Range had a decent reputation before and after the sale. Jayco did not buy Open Range to improve them but saw them as a viable company that was building a decent product. Much in the same way Thor purchased the entire Jayco conglomerate Open Range and all. The name Highland Ridge was given to Open Range to as a way to distinguish it's new purchase as a stand alone operation. I'm sure there were also liability reasons to isolate the old company from the new company.
