hitch ball size?

Heading to pick up the new rig on Thursday and need to borrow a hitch to get it to the hitch store(very complicated but has to do with $$$$$) What size coupler /receiver ball does Jayco use? 2" or 2 5/16" ??
  • i'll make sure all is good b4 I attempt the 10 mile drive to the hitch store. yes 2 5/16 is the size I need
thanks to all and I'll let you know how the trip home went on Monday

except for Small camper trailers.. most regular Travel trailers use 2 5/16... weight is the issue... I think 2 inch has a max of 5,000 pounds..

receiver should be 2 inch by 2 inch.

    but some 1 ton trucks have 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 receivers requiring a reducer .
As do some newer 1/2 ton trucks.
  • Just because the ball is the right size doesn't mean it's the "right hitch". Balls and ball mounts have weight ratings. Don't try to pull a 10,000 pound trailer with a 5,000 pound ball and mount.

Don't have a clue what you have, but most travel trailers use 2-5/16"
