hitch ball size?

i'll make sure all is good b4 I attempt the 10 mile drive to the hitch store. yes 2 5/16 is the size I need

As do some newer 1/2 ton trucks.

Just because the ball is the right size doesn't mean it's the "right hitch". Balls and ball mounts have weight ratings. Don't try to pull a 10,000 pound trailer with a 5,000 pound ball and mount.
