Has anybody seen one in person. I'm thinking of ordering one. There is no dealer close to me. Just wanted to hear other thoughts on this one. My wife and I like the pics and video on the Host web site, but it is an 8 hour drive to the dealer and I don't think he has one yet.....Would love to check out the factory but I work full time................If only I didn't have to work.........Bother

Well, at 6'4 you will have some problem with the EC1165 (on order) since the interior height is 6'4. For me at 6'3 the 1165 was scratched from my list on my first visit.

That was a big concern before going to see one in person, I spent a whole afternoon looking over a 2016 1165, I took my shoes off while inside and was able to walk around without hitting my head (I have short hair and I'm maybe 1/4"-1/2" under 6'4"), but I did have to avoid the trim molding around the fantastic fan. The door on the Eagle Cap is 26" wide.

Last month while on a work trip I was able to stop at a Host dealer to check out the Mammoth and Everest. While I liked them, there were a few things that I didn't like.
I noticed as soon as I walked up the steps into the camper that the door seemed very narrow, my shoulders were wider than the door opening (I'm 6'4 245 lbs), I didn't have a tape measure to check the door width.
I can't remember which model but my head was hitting in the top of the slide when sitting on the toilet.
I didn't like that the black tank had it's own separate dump and was located in the slide and with no black tank flush to clean out the hose. It seems like having the black tank up in the slide would raise the COG vs having the tank in the basement.
I also don't understand using 110v TV's with an inverter instead of just going with 12v TV's?

My 7-yr old just made a funny comment - - it would be terrible to forget and drive off without putting the slides in on this camper! A person could probably drive all the way home without realizing the rear slide were deployed.

Although quite heavy, that's a nice set-up for those desiring couches over the traditional style dinettes. My wife is starting to move in that direction . . . and that could turn out to be an expensive migration.

It depends on what the truck weighs.

Also depends on options and gear. Adding most options (including the slides) per Host gets you another 1492 lbs (again assuming their weights are accurate) or 4852 dry

adding propane and full water is another ~650 so about 5500lb with NO gear on a well optioned unit.

I think the truck will come in around 8100 with full fuel and 2 people.

And for those of you discussing weights, the 3360lb "base weight" includes only ONE slide even though the 2nd slide is a "mandatory option" per Host and thus of course NOT an option and should be in that base weight. The rear slide is actually optional, but then you lose what ever is there......2nd couch, laundry center so then of course it would not be a DC.

Host books 250 for a slide (don't know for sure if that is accurate - seems that it cannot be with different size slides being booked the same) and thus your base weight would be 3860 lbs with NO other options per them.
