Host Mammoth Privacy Door

How is everyone keeping the bathroom privacy door latched during travel?
I find that the velcro strap will come loose nearly every time and allows the door to move and cause damage to the door or woodwork. I was thinking of some type of positive latch so it cannot move. I also think it needs possibly another guide at the bottom to limit movement.

I took mine apart and altered the termination on the loop of the velcro, and then re-sewed it. The straps from the factory are a little loose.

Next time I'm at the camper, I will take some pictures and post them.

Obtained the smaller strap on amazon along with other varying lengths.

I like this idea!

I don't have a host, but that seems like a very cheap and non-elegant solution for a door retainer.

One thing I do that may make a difference is when I latch it, I don't pull it tight. If you do you'll only have a small amount of Velcro latched. Instead just loop it to have maximum Velcro attached, mine still moves a bit too. I just tested mine and i pulled pretty **** hard on the door and it didn't budge.

My door still moves even when strapped I think it shakes pretty hard going down the road and causes the strap to work loose.

No. Don't see how that would help much.

Do you feed the strap through the inside door hook before going to the wall hook?

I have not had this problem yet. The velcro seems to hold. But I do watch it closely.

Yeah, I'm not sure what is different with mine. It came loose on the way home after delivery. Host was great about sending a replacement panel which was damaged but trying to prevent it from happening again.

Mine has never come unlatched. I find the Velcro holds pretty well. Mine has about a 2" wide strap. You could add a snap but you'd have to put some spacers under the metal bar on the wall so the snaps would fit under it. That's what I planned on doing if it becomes a problem.
