If 50 or 60# makes a difference.... I wouldn't want that TT.:B
You don't want my TT then... I need to travel with ALL tanks empty. My trailer has a GVWR of 5870 lbs, last time over the scale (empty tanks) was 6006 lbs total. CCC of 1200 lbs disappears very quickly with rear ladder, A/C, propane tanks, battery, food, drinks, drinks, drinks, clothes, and other gear LOL.
But I knew that any trailer I purchased would be at the limit, otherwise I would have to upgrade to a 3/4 ton and that would completely SUCK!
Your right I would not want your TT. All that draining, filling and very limited CCC would had led me to pass on your TT.
There are better options/combos.
That is why I'm happy there are choices out there... I choose to purchase the largest trailer that my truck could handle. Having a 1/2 ton with a trailer that sleeps 9 easily without any tip-outs / tent sides was the most important factor for us. We got a 30 foot long trailer that mostly meets our needs. Sure it would be nice to have an outdoor kitchen, more slides, bigger tanks, and better CCC, but any of those options would have resulted in needing a bigger truck.
I actually find it very simple to operate all our tanks. When I arrive at a campsite I fill the fresh water tank and the hot water tank. Park the trailer and camp. When the camping is done, I empty the fresh water tank into the toilet to fill the black water tank, then I simply drain the fresh water and hot water tanks with the low point drains. I've got the trailer nose-up anyway to drain any water from on top of our slide before I retract. By the time I hook up and drive over to the dumping station.. there are basically no solids left in the blackwater tank (I have a clear elbow on the drain)
When I first got the trailer, the liquid level sensors were not reliable, since filling the entire black water tank each time before dumping, the sensors have slowly come back to good working order. Same with the fresh water tank, fill, dump, fill, dump from full to empty each trip has done wonders on the sensors.
