How about "Open Range TT"

I found another TT plan that we like in an Open Range TT. This seems to be a small company (compared to keystone) anyone with experience with them not many dealers carry them so that concerns me I guess.

This was the same for a lacrosse that we liked. I don't want to buy from a small company that may not be around in 5 years.

Wow - I really like the layout of the OR. I didn't realize it was legal to have that many slides! If I had the money and could tow it I would get the OR. Good Luck

Interesting about the potential Jayco acquisition of OR. I considered Jayco for the same reason as OR: 2 year warranty and reputation for standing behind their product. However, OR seemed to have better, more updated floor plans compared to Jayco, so perhaps the variety of OR floor plans is filling a niche need for Jayco.

Jayco's last merger didn't work out the well. One of the presidents got in an argument and took a pop up company private. I don't think you can merge into a family business that easily. Money doesn’t matter.

Sounds like there is still a lot to work out, but as I mentioned, maybe that will help them branch out a little and reach more dealers.

That's not a bad move in my opinion. When we bought our OR, the only other trailer we were considering was a Jayco.

The OR comes standard with a 50amp service and has the ONLY TT I have seen with a closet slide for master (combined with the kitchen/living room / bunk house slide and still have the outside kitchen) Very similar to a 5th wheel.. I really like the option of have the rear dinette AND still have a couch and thus being able to sleep 4. 2 kids - 2 friends

The Lacrosse has the awesome coat/shoe full closet just inside the front door (the shoe storage is a silly fight in our family) so we really like that.

The outback has the HUGE slide and great finshes, but no real door to separate the bunk house.

I wish I could just design my own, just like a house, and have the company build it ( but not costing a new mortgage payment)...

My buddies did not have the wardrobe slide so that must be a new feature on this model this year. Very nice to have that. I do like the big couch idea. Although our Outback 323BH does not have a dedicated door for the bunkroom it has an acordian door (better than a curtain) and with a door on our bedroom works fine for us for privacy.

We LOVE the huge slide. That is what sold us on this floorplan over all the others with the kitchen slide. The interior space looks massive. We had a 2 slide TT before replacing it with this and the feel is completely different having the bigger slide. It is like one big room and you don't feel at all constricted or confined. The big window in the rear also adds to a more open feeling all around. Good luck

We have an Open Range TT (in our signature) and love it. Have had it about a year now and it has been almost trouble free. The only problem was a bad propane regulator which they replaced quickly under warranty. My family has had lots of different RV's from TC to Hybrid, to Class A and Class C. The Open Range is the best we have had. I know we will have problems with it (all RV's will as they get used) but their customer support seems to be very good. We are going to an Open Range owner's rally in Texas soon and I'll post a report afterwards but you can check out the Open Range forum to get owner's opinions.

We have a similar layout to the OR but it is a Keystone Outback 323BH. I was concerned about the kitchen slide interfering with the outside. We bought ours in September last year and got about 7 trips in. My thoughts:

1) We rarely used an awning before owning this camper and only use an awning if it is raining or at the beach with no chance of storms and not a very windy day.

2) Our picnic table is never next to our camper. If I want to cover the PT I use an EZ-UP

3) Inside space created with the kitchen bump out is worth it.

Our camping buddies bought this OR floor plan in November last year but has not used it yet.

Lacrosse is a line of Prime Time a division of Forest River. It has done very well in the market. I really like them.

Open Range is similarly nicely equipped and young as a company, but so far privately owned.

I do not see a reason to omit either one based on company history.

This could be true. It could also be one of the countless lies and half-truths falling out of the mouths of salespeople at a typical RV show. It would be interesting to hear if there is any confirmation of this, as a search of the industry magazine, and the last two years of Jayco and Open Range press announcements show nothing.
