How do I know how much to pay for a used TC?

I'm looking at a 2013 Arctic Fox 992, seems in great condition asking $28k. How do I go about finding the right price for that, or any other TC?

Fox Landing was the norm back then. I think 2013 was the first or second model year of that.

I think 2013 was the last year of the slant nose cabover. Nothing wrong with it, but some people might like the additional headroom at the head of the bed with the taller cabover of later model years.

The shelf in the pantry looks to be an owner added contraption.

There's no oven, so it most likely has the convection microwave.

I'm guessing it's been outside a lot in the summer, since the stove hood vent is turning yellow.

i see several options on this one. Like a step on both sides of the fox landing. and not sure but fox landing might also be an option on this one.
it looks like it might be the rear awning where you can change the pitch of the rear awning. right now its in the flat position, but can be tilted down in back with buttons on side of arm. (but awning needs cleaned).
I appears someone added those shelf's (and the box) into the cabinet.
The solar cost something to install.

unless you make an offer you will never know.

I have seen people take the NADA site and check every piece that is in there RV and price from that (I have seen the dealer Boat and RV do this on used rigs as well). That is not how NADA works since most of the options can with rig accept maybe generator, AC, Solar, etc.

Sometimes you also find out the price is caused by a bank loan on an RV financed with $0 down, or worse yet, with role-over from the last RV load. and owner needs to get out from under loan.

New ones are coming in at $35k to start at dealers here in Boise. Only about 2 hours or so from the factory though. I agree with the $25k offer above because of the age, no more. Condition matters but no warranty is a big factor in my mind. Seller's market very soon though.

Love the rear kitchen, dry bath, and Fox landing. Looks like a power awning as well. Kept inside is a big plus. This camper has a great floor plan. I prefer u-shaped dinette but to each his own.

remember, supply and demand. if there is no supply and you have demand, price can be higher. If its that close to "new" prices, it might be worth it to go new.

Optioned I think she probably paid close to $35k, yes?

If I got this at $25k that's a $10k saving, about 1/3. Do you think that's too high? I'm out of my league here so def interested in opinions.

I shopped that price range last year in Washington. I think $25k is a decent price if mint for that model, options and year. Wouldn't pay a penny more unless newer. What's the build date? 2012? It's probably pushing 5 years old. Good luck, those are sweet looking rigs similar to my setup, love the rear kitchen.

Also, curious what you will be hauling it with. They are very heavy.

yessir, that's the one. Owners have been very responsive.

I'm planning to get the full on RAM 3500 dually with the Cummins. Haven't decided which transmission yet, but the AISIN is 'only' $3000 more so.... overkill, I'm sure, but some day I might want a big trailer or to tow a toadie behind the TC. The current owners use a full ton SRW but I think they're probably overweight.

yes, forgot about the fox value pack. I'd say 24ish is a fair starting point.

This has arctic package, AC, solar, thermal pane windows, and is described as 'loaded' by the owner but I don't really know what that means. Seems to me $25k is fair give or take 5-10% given the condition (used fewer than 20 times if owner to be believed, and stored in a heated garage) and options.

But I'm new to this. What other major options would I ask about? 3 way fridge? I can see it doesn't have an oven, just a cooktop and microwave.

I used NADA and RV Trader to value my Arctic Fox and set an asking price. It sold within 10 percent of what I asked which was within my "negotiating budget".

It's an RV. You would be lucky to get 2/3 new price for a 5 year old one, 1/2 might be more normal. These things depreciate like a falling stone.

There's a $5490 MSRP listed below the details of the Fox Value Package that you also need to include. So MSRP for the whole thing is over $33k.

Look on craigslist to see what others are asking. And look on ebay to see what some actually sold for.
