It's been a mixed bag over the years, and it depends on a lot of factors. We were much more sensitive to it when we owned our PU. For the most part parents get to the CG and then let their kids loose, because they don't want to deal with them. I would never just let my kids run wild anywhere, let alone in a CG. But for some reason parents think "camping" just gives them free reign to let others monitor their kids. We've had kids play hide-and-seek running around our PU. I was certain they would trip and fall, and then their parents would sue us.
It's easier to tolerate in a TT, unless you are outside with kids running around.
The thing that irritates me even more is kids running around screamin and shouting at the top of their lungs. I don't mind people having a good time, but being outdoors suddenly gives kids license to be as obnoxious as they can. And it's obvious their parents don't keep that in check, and in some cases, probably get that behavior from them.
What's ironic on our last trip is that we had the persistent screaming and shouting from dozens of kids, but I can only remember one kid actually walking through our campsite. But it was probably because our site was one of the furthest from the bath house. That's usually a big factor, although regardless we've had plenty of kids on bicycles cut through our site in the past.
