I get off my chair, walk up to them and punch them as hard as I can in the face, men, women, kids, bears, dogs, squirrels, birds, mt.lions, raccoons, skunks, cats, park police, bees, I don't care. If they say, growl or anything back I punch them in the head again. This has worked well for me over the years.

My wife gets upset over it, I usually don't. We commonly camp along a river and people like to walk along the bank, I'd be bothered if they stopped and put chairs in from of my view though. At another location we park close to a playground for the kids and sometimes expect other kids to run through. What bothers me is when kids we don't know stop and hang out with our kids and do not leave. They may be nice but I would not want my kids at someones site unless we spoke to a parent and they were ok with it.

We boondock 99% of the time except for 5 days following Quartzsite. In this CG there is a row that completely blocks access to the lakefront from the rest of the CG unless you take a 5min detour. We make a point to walk on the edge of the campsite, but I'm not walking around because someone's panties are all bunched up thinking they "own" the entire plot. These sites are big enough to support me respectfully walking the perimeter. The whole point is this simply can't be a flat rule.

Sounds just like being to lazy to me. Its like people who circle parking lots multiple times so they don't have to walk an extra 20 feet, most of them look like they could use it too. If you can't be bothered for a 5 min detour then pony up the money and get your own lake front site. Just my opinion.
at the risk of being tossed off these forums I will refrain from what you need to hear, but read everything into it from this:

I have spent the last 33 days in the hospital with my wife attempting to get all the way around the CG by getting a new knee installed. That has since gotten a massive infection, and if the operation she is in for this moment doesn't go well, that walk will turn into a wheelchair, so forgive me if I don't really care about your opinions. Jerk....
It is a shame your wife is having medical issues, but that doesn't give you, her or anyone else the right to infringe upon other people. Hopefully her surgery will go well and she will recover completely. And hopefully your post was born out of fear and anger and it is not what you really believe. Your rights really don't trump anyone else's, regardless of the situation.

I don't know what the beef is about? I never have anybody cut through my campsite. But then again I throw out a hand full of these around my site................no problem! :B

I haven't really had many walk throughs, however reading this thread, i know for a fact i wouldn't really be in much a mood for an ongoing occurrence.

There were some kids playing around my site this weekend where they shouldn't have been, driving my dog crazy so i shewed them off.

I know that is not the standard in Texas and probably isn't in any of the 50 states. If you shoot someone and don't want to spend the rest of your life as a guest of the state you better have a lot better tale to tell than "I shot them because I felt threatened".

Certainly not the standard here in Canada, we don't even have guns; but we do get to shoot our mouths off. :B

Depends on the campground. Sometimes you just have a site that has a primary shortcut through it, whether that's to the bathrooms or a trail head. Live and learn and don't take that site next time.

The problem with unwritten laws, common sense behavior, and other such โ€œknown to allโ€ rules; is that they are not known to all. Sometime a person has to be gently reminded what the rules on your property are.

When you ask โ€œwould this Klutz do this at home?โ€ all too often the answer is yes. Loud parties, cutting through the neighborโ€™s yard, sprawling stuff over into others properties is not just limited to camp grounds.

I only have to follow the laws in the United States.

Please go back to my original post and read the text I quoted. If you still don't get it I suggest you read as many books on humor and it's various forms. Lighten up.

What just makes me burn is when kids come zipping through your camp spot with their big wheel types and bikes throwing up dust and almost hitting me (KOA). That came to a screeching stop right away. I told the kids, management and blockaded their entry point. The particular camp site is open ended, but we like it for the room and vegetation. Got it for Labor day, so expect the worst again.

It's been a mixed bag over the years, and it depends on a lot of factors. We were much more sensitive to it when we owned our PU. For the most part parents get to the CG and then let their kids loose, because they don't want to deal with them. I would never just let my kids run wild anywhere, let alone in a CG. But for some reason parents think "camping" just gives them free reign to let others monitor their kids. We've had kids play hide-and-seek running around our PU. I was certain they would trip and fall, and then their parents would sue us.

It's easier to tolerate in a TT, unless you are outside with kids running around.

The thing that irritates me even more is kids running around screamin and shouting at the top of their lungs. I don't mind people having a good time, but being outdoors suddenly gives kids license to be as obnoxious as they can. And it's obvious their parents don't keep that in check, and in some cases, probably get that behavior from them.

What's ironic on our last trip is that we had the persistent screaming and shouting from dozens of kids, but I can only remember one kid actually walking through our campsite. But it was probably because our site was one of the furthest from the bath house. That's usually a big factor, although regardless we've had plenty of kids on bicycles cut through our site in the past.

I will put up a sign from now on saying, "Cross this lot and get shot. Ammo is expensive so no warning shots will be fired.!"
