How long can leave bleach water in system?

I usually camp once a month, so once I de-winterize, I never really worry about water being left in my TT...I typically drain the tanks and the hot water heater and that's it.

This year, I had a bike accident during our first trip for the summer and have not been out since. We plan to hit it again this september...Is it ok to leave a little bleach water in the system from now and when I get ready to use it? How long is too long?

I plan on flushing it and rinsing before we head out...

Thanks!
  • I've never heard of any problems. Be sure to rinse the system thoroughly and make sure there is no bleach smell left. Remember the outside shower. You should be fine.
  • I had recently bleached our stick and tin well. I used 2.5 gallons for the 350ft deep well. It took 5 days of flushing to get rid of the manganese reaction, but was effective in killing the stench making bacteria.
  • I pour bleach in the black water tank between trips to reduce any odor.
