How long to get a couch.

I have a married friend that just today sold his 30 foot TT. It was longer then he felt he wanted to tow very far with his half ton pickup and so it usually sat on a seasonal site.

They went camping with me in my 20 foot TT last summer and after that they decided to get a different and smaller TT so they could go further from home. His only complaint about mine is that there is no couch. Just a bed, dinette, kitchen and bathroom.

About how long of a TT should he be looking at to get a couch included in the mix and yet still stay smaller.

I hope you understand what I mean.

I know, I know, it's all about weight and what we can talk about that later .

My experience is that TTs over 25' offer couches, some placed perpendicular to the side walls. Our couch is fairly comfy, but not long enough to sleep on. However, it folds out to become a bed, but that isn't the most comfy either. I do enjoy sitting on it to watch TV and read.

If he wants to go on the really small end, I have a Milan 18CK that has both dinette and a jackknife sofa. There are a number of makers of the 18CK floor plan in varying degrees of quality.

Somewhere in the 24 - 26' range should allow them both a sofa and dinette.

It's for a friend. He is not a Caveman he is married. If he tried to drag his wife around by the hair,, he would get his but kicked. If fact, if he tried to tell her what to do,, he would get his but kicked.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I will take the suggestions and give them to him so he can get some ideas what to look for.

I have a 2014 Surveyor Cadet 189. It is 21' long with a sofa bed slideout. It does not have a dinette, but you get a table with the sofa bed. (I specifically was looking for a floorplan with a sofabed instead of a dinette.)
For 2015, Surveyor has a newer floor plan, the 201, that's 24 1/2' long. It has the sofa bed with slideout and a walkaround bed. No dinette either. It is a nice floor plan.
I did notice that my sofa bed slideout slides out about 2 1/2' as compared to the usual 4', so I have a little wiggle room when setting up camp. And I need it.
I pull the Surveyor with a 2006 4Runner V8 4.3L engine. It pulled the trailer up the Cajon Pass and Sherwin Grade with no problem.

My 2013 Dutchman is 25 ft. and has a fold down couch as part of the slide out. However it only 62โ€ between the arm rests. That is okay for the dog but a bit cramped for adult sleeping.

Also, the back of the couch was over stuffed and mades a two level bed when folded down.

My wife recently took about half the stuffing out of back so now the bed is one level when fold down.

Just right for Grandpa, Grandma and the dog.

Had a 2014 Dutchmen, 26' TT with a couch, dinette and queen bed, no slide.
Really neat floorplan. Weightwise, I am sure a 1/2 ton would have done the job.
