Finally broke down and upgraded to the F250. After four years of watching the weight of stuff in the F150, nothing to worry about now. Big difference from 1600 lbs of payload to 3300~lbs. Now I just have to keep the family from putting too much in the camper.

Anyway loading up for a week long trip to Topsail. This is our maiden voyage with the new truck. We roll out in the morning.

Very nice looking truck, sorry to hear about the rear ending she took. Glad to hear no one was hurt and damage was minimal. Enjoy that new truck smell.

I'm just about to do the same thing. I'm fed up with constantly having worry about any extra weight in my truck when I tow, and I'm not a fan of the mushy 1/2 ton ride. I've got a 6.2L F250 all picked out, but the only thing holding me back right now is the possibility of the 2017 Super Duties having a 10 speed with the gasser. It would be sweet to get the same MPG I'm getting right now but in a 3/4 ton truck... Bleh, but I wanna tow with it now!!!

Love my 2013 6.2. I hang around 8 to 8.5 mpg towing. I even use it for my daily driver, get between 12 and 15 mpg, depending on my mood...I've had zero issues with mine. Tows great and I'm very happy with it. I'm sure you will be too. Oh, I have a dent in the lower right fender right in front of my rear tire. Don't know who did it and I didn't notice it myself, the wife saw it. Very small dent and hard to see but it still makes me mad. My wife just said shake it off, it happens.

After a 800 mile trip averaged 8.5mpg towing. A little disappointed. Hoping this increases as i put on more mileage. Traveling in town ~10mpg. Took on the interstate today and averaged about 13.5 not towing. About the best i can expect for a large V8.

BTW the only damage was the bumper and all repairs will be complete by Tuesday. Then I can concentrate on better tires and a sprayed bed liner and other personalizations.

Besides I got rearended today and I am totally discusted. 8days and 668 miles I get to start filing insurance claims and dealing with repairs. At least no one was hurt other than my pride

Man I hate that for you. That sinking feeling in your gut is the worlds worst feeling. I sure hope it's not to severe and it gets worked out for you. Even more so, hope the guilty party has a good insurance company that will take care of you!

Oh man, that stinks big time. Had it happen to me once with a brand new Grand Cherokee I bought in 08. 1300 miles and a guy blew a stop sign and did about 17k in damage...

Im really liking my 6.2 also. I recently returned from a roughly 775 mi round trip towing and was initially slightly disappointed in my mileage which was 9.5 average. But after reading, researching, and realizing how much I was pulling, I feel much better about it as some aren't getting what I am. The truck performed flawlessly too with very good power! You should be very pleased, and congrats!

Darn right the 6.2 is rock solid. We prety much circumnavigated North America last winter absolutely no probs and plenty of western mountain climbing with the fiver in tow, took it all in stride and purred along the whole way only time in the dealer was for a couple oil changes along the route. 12,500 km All in just under 3 wks at full speed limit, didnt matter if the limit was 60 or 80 hills or flat roughly $2,500 in fuel . We didnt intend to go that far but 2 days after we got to Arizona I got a call that my best friend in BC had passed away so we decided to head up there, and return to Ontario after.

Very nice! The 6.2 has proven to be an excellent power plant.
