This would have to be a first for a European maker a Slideout and a "rough road" model. Interesting to see how it handles on dirt roads and it's payload, especially with a Slideout
Euro vans get Aussie accent with new rough-road and slide-out models now available
Adria will unveil new ‘rough road’ and ‘slide-out’ caravan models at next month’s Queensland Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow.
It’s the first time the lightweight, Slovenian-built caravans will be available in Australia (and possibly the world) with a slide-out section, which will be available on the range-topping, tandem axle, 22ft 4in Adora model.
According to new Australian Adria distributor Apollo Motorhome Holidays, the electric slide-out “extends the dinette area at the push of a button”.
Responding “to the huge demand for semi off-road travel”, Apollo is also offering a single axle, four-berth Altea model with increased road clearance and some checker plate protection for those who want to travel on dirt or gravel roads.
The new upgrades are the latest modifications to Adria’s increasingly ‘Australianised’ range. Officially available Down Under since 2007, Australian-spec models also feature stronger Al-Ko chassis, thicker side walls and window supports as well as bigger water tanks than similar European models.
Most British/ European caravans now sold in Australia have been modified to some extent to suit local tastes and conditions, with more road clearance, larger, underslung water tanks, and the fitting of bigger fridges, air-conditioners and even washing machines, the most common changes.
The full range of Adria caravans including the new semi off-road and slide-out models will be on display at the Queensland Supershow, which runs from June 3-9 at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
