In the market for new trailer

Currently own a 2008 Starcraft 2700BH. It has served me well however, it is beginning to show its age. I have narrowed my selections down to the following manufacturers. Artic Fox ( North Fork 32A ) Keystone ( Laredo 330RL) Jayco(Eagle HT 272RBOK / 274CKDS) and Winnebago (Voyage V 3235RL / V2730RB or Mini (2701RBS,) Mini Plus 27rbds / 30RLSS ) I am looking at the 30-35 ft range, with hitch weight not more than 1500 #'s. Mostly interested in rear living, rear bath or kitchen. I own a 2016 F350 6.7 super duty ( diesel ) with 6.5 foot bed. My other issue is, I live in a dealer dessert. Keystone dealers are 1.5 away,) Jayco ( almost 3 hrs ) and I think Winnebago maybe 1hr or so. As far as specific models, I really like a Jayco models above that I mentioned. In the same price point, I think Jayco Offers more per $ in other areas. Specifically a Moreride 3000 suspension. As far as the others, the Winnebago Voyage line is new this year, so just going on you tube reviews. Each manufactuer has their own problems etc, but it mostly depends on dealer service. The 2 dealers with Keystone are Modern Trailer and Walnut Ridge RV. Jayco Colerain RV ( Indianapolis ) and Winnebago ( Brauns Funtime Campers) I think it will mostly come down to dealer service. As far as financing goes, I hate owing the middle man, so I will pay cash upfront.

Find the floor plan that works and don't worry about the MFG so much. Most are built with the same stuff in the same way with the same BS "Ours is the bets" MFG quotes.
Plan for the worst and hope for the best. Two trailers on the same lot can be from different worlds. QC is all over the place.
With that being said some MFG do a few things above and beyond the rest. Our ORV while having some issues has many more amenities than others.
3 Maxair fans, two with remotes. Dual pane windows. In house bult frame. Shocks, Morryde 3000 equalizer and 16: GY Endurnace tires.
It however has had some issues but for the most part everything has work from the get go. All wiring including Sat and cable done right. All appliances have work from the get go. No plumbing leaks.
Starting with a good foundation helps get past some of the QC short comings.

Again two ORV units side by side and it's like one was built with trainee's and the other by the 'A' team.

Of those listed and your proximity I'd opt for a Jayco.

Everyone has a special interest in their TT. Some look for the kids, others want the outside kitchen, while others have to have a toy hauler. Your world is what you want. We are in our unit for over 5 1/2 months a year, we travel across the US.
We need our living room (duel opposing slides) with fireplace. This is where we hang out daily, a 4 foot shower and a queen size bed with our own mattress (residential size).
We have had 5 Jaycos and one of our key decisions was the dealer, they have served us very,very well over the years. So many friends bought from large dealers that forgot who they were the moment they signed the papers.

Wow Scott.. Didn't realize you had all those issues with your new TT... I too just got a new TT and could not imagine going thru those kind of issues..

I bought mine off the lot, so I spent a lot of the guys time going thru it before I made any kind of decision (over an hour at least).. It didn't have all the things we wanted in this rig, but it was the floor plan we wanted, so worked a deal to replace the dinette with the optional theater seats.. This took some time to do (just to get the factory theater seats from the manufacturer, which turned out to be a shipping issue in the end), but we had the trailer in our hands while waiting and in the end, have our theater seats and can't wait to try them out in the "field" and not just next to our house..

I have a Forest River make and have done a bunch of "mods" to it already! We had our last TT for 16 years and modded it extensively,(Fleetwood) so we knew what works and what does not for us and simply applied that to the new one even before the first trip with it! Started drilling holes, adding/removing things to make it ours the first weekend we got the rig home.. 🙂

To the OP, don't get so fixated on the manufacture name on these things... They all are built in less than a day down an assembly line, so they are all going to have things wrong with them.. I've never special ordered anything.. Always off the lot where I can see what I'm getting right then and there.. You special order something, that's what you get when it arrives at the dealer ship and then you have to do your inspection, after you've already PAID for it..

Have not found any real poor quality in the rig yet.. The fridge would shut off on gas or electric if it was plugged into shore power.. Was going to take it in to the dealer, but I knew it was just the board.. Got one for $100 on Amazon, less than an hour to replace and BINGO.. Works great. Didn't have to haul it down to the dealer, wait a day or two (or more, because they would have just got the board off Amazon as well..) and then pick it up again.. Fixed it myself, as I will do with any other little things that might pop up.

Anyway, too long of a post to say nothing, so apologize for that.. 🙂

I have the 32A and would like to point out a couple if details.

It is MUCH heavier than they claim. Full of water and less than 300# worth of stuff inside, it tops the scales at 9300# plus the tounge weight of > #1200+. Interestingly, the water tank sits centered over the front axle and adds no weight at all to the hitch when full.

Build quality is dismal - I mean it's on-par with the cheapest stuff on the market. There were way, way too many defects to go into here but some of them were stripped screws in all the cabinets (90%), things wired backwards, s/o roof that tore (my dime), leaking plumbing, brakes assembled backwards (again, on my dime), fridge installed contrary to its instructions that didn't work worth a squat, countless blemishes in gelcoat of the fr. and rear caps and a roof that immediatley had to be replaced (more on that below).

Oh and I spent days repairing the cabinet doors and drawers that didn't work right and were hung crooked.

If you get the 50A option, either have them install the AC at the factory and NOT at the dealership or watch for the floowoing very closely because it's a mistake they continue to make.

We ordered our unit with the 50A option. Doing so eliminates both skylights in the bedroom. - this is important!

When our long awaited new trailer showed up, it had both 50A and the bedroom skylights. Score!

The next morning I was looking down at the top of out new TT from the house and came to a horrific realization; there was no way a second AC would fit because the skylights were in the way. That makes the $1000 50A option useless and of course, no way to have second AC.
I called the factory and the Warranty jerk argued that I had paid for 50A but not second AC - which is contrary to the sales literature and a total lie. There's no other reason to have 50A on this trailer and besides, IT WAS WIRED for the second AC.
It took my dealer (who was great) setting them straight to make them "fix it".
The worst was yet to come. That same warranty puke told me lie after lie about how this would be handled. He simply told me what ever he thought I wanted to hear.
In short, the roof isn't strong enough for the second AC without extra supports being installed.
Our new trailer went back to the factory where the roof was ripped off by simply slicing it at the ends where the front and rear caps meet the membrane. So now I have a second transition strip and a ton of goop keeping it from leaking. The whole roof replacement is sloppy beyond words. That's probably because they replaced it in ONE DAY!!
Thanks to my wonderful dealer, NW did install that second AC for free but it shook so bad after I got it that it had to be repaired (probably why they gave it to me).

In short, I will never buy another Northwood product. Not because of the mistakes but because of the terrible way those mistakes were handled by NW.

Sorry for the rant but folks need to know that NW is just living on its past good name.

I have a thing against rear kitchens due to the bouncing around of the back end. It might be worthwhile to search this Forum for phrases like `rear kitchen' or `rear bathroom', etc.

Arctic Fox is the best quality on your list and has a very good reputation. It’s probably the most expensive, too. The models I’ve been in are impressive, at least in their craftsmanship. I understand your dealer service location dilemma, but I’d still go with the best built unit..
