Indoor Storage: is it worth it

I've always wanted indoor storage since I had it with our first TT and the condition of it remained new for the 3 years we had it. Since then we moved from that area and now I'm hard pressed to find indoor storage around me. Well there's a brand new place that opened up the road and it's $250 a month (trying to work out a deal), but here are the amenities: enclosed garage, garage door opener, and electricity in garage. The facility itself offers a dump station with water, a RV Wash station, and compressed air station.

Does anyone else pay for enclosed storage? Would you?

I store indoors for the Canadian winter.
Retired cattle barn.
Roughly 75 cars, boats and RVs stored there over the winter.
Concrete floor.
$5 a foot per month.
For me it works out to $110 a month X 6 months = $660

It's worth it to me:
A) Protects the trailer
B)Frees up driveway space for the winter

Indoor storage is a premium that few care to pay for. I our case the TT never sits long enough to make it worth while.

Fortunately we have a shady TT parking spot so the Indiana summer sun is not as brutal an issue to us as it is for others.

Depends on your finances. For some $250/month is a whole lot of money and for others it is pocket change. For $3k per year I can pay myself to remove and install the cover a number of times.

We're paying $110/month here for covered with dump station,air station and potable water onsite. I haven't been able to find fully enclosed storage in town. I figure covered still keeps the sun,rain and hail off so that's good enough for me..last month the manager offered us a different spot that is fully shaded instead of the one we were in that had our front cap in the sun. One day I'll have a spot at home until then this works.

You should be able to find storage yards with pole barns for around $60. a month.

My wife and I discussed it and it's way to much. Love the amenities, but it's not worth $200 per month more than my outdoor storage. I'm going up to buy an Element cover from CW and will just plan the 20 minutes to put on and take off. I used to store in the caves up in Kansas City, which is climate controlled, they park it for you and the cost is around $150 per month.

It is worth it to store it indoors. But, that is a lot of money. Are you sure that you can't find something cheaper ? Maybe run a add in your local Craigslist or paper or something asking for storage and see what shows up. I know that you must be careful with what you find though.

I store indoors and just dealt with hurricane Irma. My 2014 TT looks as good as the day I bought it. When I sold my HTT the people that bought it couldn’t believe how good a shape it was in when they saw it, they thought I was kidding when I said it was stored indoors. In Florida the sun is an absolute killer for RVs left outside.

We bought our trailer last fall and found a nice outdoor storage site for $65/month. In July we got a notice we had to vacate in 30 days. Apparently the suburb the storage lot was in had a no boat or RV storage provision in their laws. Since the RV storage lot was not visible from the road, it operated for years until it got caught. Anyhow 200 boats and RV's had 30 days to find someplace else in an already tight storage market.
We got on it immediately and got quite lucky to find covered storage for $88/month. It's tricky backing it in but well worth it

Agreed, but unfortunately I don't have the land, or RV parking at my house. Until I get my own RV garage, I will need to rent the indoor storage.

Yep, you could buy several really nice carports for that price.

We store our 26'er in a pole barn type shed I built for my pontoon boat that we no longer have. Fortunately the trailer fits nicely. It gets some afternoon sun for a few hours, but I put up a sun sail to block the front. It's not perfect, but I think it really helps. Sun is a killer.

I'd spend the $3K/year for more camping trips.

In my case, I'm retired and on and off the road so much, it makes little sense to store it anywhere.
