nice job on running the wires, but still not understanding the need for the electrical box???
Two reasons...
1) The end of the cable that runs thru the attic has an RCA jack plus a 5.5mm/2.1mm power jack, which matches the cables on the camera, and I didn't want that slack flapping around outside, nor did I want the plug connection exposed to the elements. The box gives me a place to tuck all that away.
2) By anchoring the camera to the face plate of the box, I can go with a totally different camera mount later without worrying about additional holes in the back of the trailer.
I've toyed with the notion of running a second video cable which would let me have a true rear facing view. My monitor in the cab has two inputs, and that would give me the best of both worlds.
