I had progressive for a few years in NC, whe never made a claim, but they kept raising the prices so I moved on. I had a big policy with multiple vehicles and the RV, but going up $1,000 in a year had me cancelling. Progressive had teaser rates and then it kept increasing. I had ATV's insured too, lots of profit for them with zero claims.
So far I like SafeCo insurance best even after a couple claims. The claim process on the house and a car was good, no issues. I've had bad experiences with Allstate when I was living in GA. Alfa here in Alabama had horrible claims adjusters. Mine got fired and they ended up fixing the house after a year of jumping through hoops with some district manage. Had to get a structural engineer. They would not go off the estimates of the contractors. We ended up getting more money after the engineer's report that said the same thing as the estimates and then some, so it worked out in our favor.
Allstate was just horrible all around, my family had auto claims and every-time it was a fight to get things fixed correctly even at Allstate Certified body shops. I really hate Allsnake, they short changed us on a water heater failure in the house, they never did cover all the damage. Ended up just fixing it out of pocket, already dealt with the state insurance commissioner and he wasn't much help. The lawyers are the true winners.
SafeCo so far has been good even after a big tornado damage claim the rates haven't gone up that much, nothing like Progressive. SafeCo covers everything of ours now. They are good with motorcycle too. We got hit with two bad storms and Safeco covered it, the house and car got damaged. Never had an RV related claim, hopefully we will keep it that way!
