Intersection: Your TC and old man winter. Post up your pix.

With a comprehensive blast of cold air over much of the U.S. and Canada, with attendant frozen precip, I thought it would a good time to see how you are faring in the annual interface between your TC and old man winter. You guys in the southern hemisphere can wait 6 months to respond. Might as well show your snow fighting and snow motating machines too.
We had a foot of very dry snow fall overnight. The water content was 25:1 That's dry. We are used to Sierra Cement, a very high water content snow, 10 or 12:1, more like a snow cone than the dry stuff most others can get. Everything set up to dump a dry, cold snowfall. This is the first time I have ever seen snow drifts here on the west slope @ 4K feet.
The temps during the snowfall were hovering in the low 20'sF. Here is what jefe actually looks like on his way out to climb on the tractor: not to confused with seldom seen Smith!.

I pulled the tractor out which was hiding the TC snug its little domicile, 4 inches higher on 8 jacks than it sits on the truck. I can just back the truck under it and lower the jacks. As you see my TC is in two distinct parts at the moment: a T, and a C.

Nice camper Carb Cleaner. You'll sure enjoy it. We got a 2013 850 in August and just love it. Seem to be a few on here now. Happy winter camping. Rick

Monday morning at 2 AM at a very crowded rest area in PA. Ice storms. It was its maiden voyage, having taken delivery of it from Truck Camper Warehouse in NH on Sunday about one PM. Great guys. Highly recommended, but that's for another thread.
Anyway, a 10 hour drive took roughly 14 and a half. We made it home about 4:30 AM. I puckered up going over just about every bridge. No problem staying awake.
Ink hadn't dried on the paper, 2012 Wolf Creek 850:

You can see the ice hanging off the cab-over, about 2-3 inches. It's at least an 1/8" thick on the front, probably more, making it look like a really dull paint job:

Gary,
Nice plow. I wonder how many on here have a snow plow for the front of their truck(camper).
Are those chains on there or do my eyes deceive me?
At one time I thought of a plow for our property, but there is no elevation to the lane (no borrow pits) and the trees are adjacent leaving no where to push the snow. For us the only solution is to blow; over or through the trees.
It's nice to be back on topic. However, there is a lot to learn when we veer off-track for a short time. Just not all the time. I am certainly guilty as anyone.

Thanks Jefe!
Actually that was right before the maiden voyage of the Avion two Thanksgivings ago. I got caught with the Avion on the back of the truck, before getting the studded skinnies swapped over, and then the wind and snow came, so I drove up to the plow, 5 minutes later i was plowing with the camper on, and the 35x12.5x16.6 BFG A/T's.... I can tell you that even with the weight of the camper, I could easily break loose the rear end.
No chains, just an optical illusion with the dry powdery snow on the deep lugs and side biters of the BFG A/T's.

For drives like yours, I just angle the plow to the right or left, and it "blows" the snow right out of the way lickety split. As long as there isn't too big of a berm on the side. Two passes and a long driveway is usually done.

Good Luck! And I love your trip reports off-road. I have not got that crazy yet, but would like to get further off the toad than I have, I just need to do lockers before I do that...

I wasn't tryin' to start an argument, Mooring Product!

Just pointing out for those who may be unaware that State rules don't govern Federal Waters. That's the Coast Guard's purview, and different rules apply.

They are Florida boys...they swim before they walk here. (Law is 6 and under are required)

FYI:

If on Federal Waters, the rule/age since 2002 has been under-13

Looks like maybe they spotted a mermaid. My guess is that it won't be too long before they just ask you for the keys to the boat. Dads won't be appreciated to come along.

Life jackets?

We saw some nice mermaids at the sand bar but they were old for them....around 11 they said..lol

DJ, I'm looking into doing just that. I have figured out how to build the dolly with 10 inch metal caster wheels on the bottom. I'm just worried they will sink into the dirt just outside the barn door as I'm pulling it in. I will have to put down a gravel base first or perhaps use boards under the wheels. I will get something figured out.

Here in southern Indiana we have received about 10 inches total in the past week which is unusual for this time of year. Temps are getting down into the teens tonight and single digits tomorrow night. My camper has been sitting in the back yard as it will not fit in my barn as hopped. Here is my Arctic Fox coping with the snow, just waiting until next month when I may actually be able to get out somewhere and camp in it for the first time.

Could you get it in the barn by building a low profile dolly?
