Three weeks ago the awning filled up with rain and an arm broke. Expensive fix. Thankfully is wasn't worse and no one got hurt. Two weeks ago I couldn't close the black tank valve. Stuck a stick up there and fished around and pulled a chunk of thin plastic liner. Not to mention the "black" water that came with it. What a mess!Then we park the TT at the inlaws and my FIL calls me and says one of the top window vents is open. I know I checked them before leaving the campsite, so it must have blew open or something. Got it closed before any rain. Today, dump station tank must've been full as chunks of "black" water ran back up and all around my hose and literally stuck to it and needed to be rinsed off. What a nasty disgusting mess!!And then while driving home, one of the emergency windows flew open! One of the kids knocked it while sleeping and apparently broke the support bracket off. Thankfully some duct tape and we were back on the road. Camping is supposed to help me unwind, but all these "somethings" keep popping up and is causing lots of stress and some money. Argh, what's next????

The R in RV is supposed to be for recreation, but it isn't always that way.

The standard roof-top vents will ratchet them selves open going down the road. I had to buy some of those square pillows that are meant to insulate them. Shoving the pillows up there keeps the little crank thingy from turning.

Is it always something?Yep, pretty much.JUST when you think you have it ALL covered......Mr. Murphy rules again.I haven't had anything go wrong on the last 4 or 5 trips; I'm getting a little apprehensive. ;-)

YES!!!! You are talking CHEESY products here. I left a section of 3 louver bedroom side window on the road in NM. The small screws backed out. A boondocking spot didnt work out so we stopped at a truck stop. I told my DW that it sure seemed noisy. I then started looking around and found the window gone. It was then a choice of neatly installed black sheet metal for $7.00 or $800 for a window.

I would much rather fix something while camping than mess with it during the week after work. I lost a rear bedroom bunk window somewhere in GA. My daughter must've bumped the latch and it flew off along the highway somewhere. Yes the roof vents need to be closed right. You can't even crack one open while driving as it will raise up on its own. I installed max air vent covers and the vent has been open since 07!Yes, there will always be something as with any pass time.

My vents would do that as well. I solved it by putting some MaxxAir Vents over them.

things happen, but a good shake down before you leave the drive way will stop a lot of minor headaches. all so before you leave the camp ground do a walk threw and double check things ,some even have a clip board list to check off.

Just name it "Always Sumtin"..........

Frustrating, but yes, we all have to deal with "stuff." Some when it's home and some on the road. Good Luck...there are lots of good trips, too.

Campers all use the same components and most are pretty junky. I've been around all but the Airstream level units and maybe they're different, but the mainstream is pretty junky.

Yes. However, the longer you have your RV and the more successful you are at making the repairs, the fewer somethings that occur.
