Is it time to dump this Atwood fridge

We have a 2014 Keystone Bullet premier. It has an Atwood 0801 helium fridge. It's acting stupid and I just finished reading an extensive series of posts concerning the problems people are and have been having with the fridge. I guess Dometic bought out Atwoods fridge section so no more parts are to be made. I am wondering if anyone out in RV Net land has thrown up their hands and bit the bullet for a new replacement fridge and if so, what did you replace the Atwood with?

I have been accumulating what parts I could find for future repairs but maybe that is a fruitless endeavor. Let me know what you think even if you don't have one of these things but have some worthwhile input.

Thanks for that glimmer of hope Tim. Before I started this thread I had been getting some help with ideas from the "Tech" forum crowd. Here's a link to whats up with the fridge.

I also have a 2014 Bullet 285RLS with the same fridge and have NEVER had a problem! What exactly is it doing wrong? You did not state that. The biggest factor in these Helium fridges not working is if the trailer is not level. Also, they do take about 8 hours to really start cooling off, then they are fine. Your trailer is fairly new. I would check further or have a qualified tech look at it before throwing in the towel and spending a lot of $ to replace!

I'd go with a compressor unit as well so long as you camp with shore power mostly.

12v Compressor freezer/fridge. Best paired with a good solar system and batterie(s) if boon docking.

Atwood HE Fridge dimensions

The height of the enclosure is between 59.875 and 60.125 inches for HE-08xx models
(52.875 and 53.125inches for HE-06xx models)

The width of the enclosure must be between 23.50 and 23.65 inches.

The depth of the enclosure should be at least 24.00 inches



YES...parts are scarce/obsolete/out of production.
