If you're going to buy a Surge Guard you don't need a 50 amp version for your travel trailer ... this 30 amp version is what you want. I've got an earlier version of this exact Surge Guard and I know for a fact that in just the last year that I've had it installed in my trailer it's saved the day on two occasions. Secondly, don't buy one here in Canada ... keep an eye out for Camping World sales, the closest store to us being in Hamburg, NY just south of Buffalo. Be aware also that many here on the forum will warn you against a TRC Surge Guard in favour of one by Progressive Industries ... nothing specifically wrong about it except that the Progressive units AFAIK aren't sold here in Canada and even if they were would be WAY beyond what you'd want to pay for one. If after researching you decide you do want a Progressive then have a friend or relative in the US order it for you, then pick up later yourself.
