Bought a x23b last month. A bigger door to be put in for our handicap son. So went to dealer to have it put in. Oops 3 inches to short. Trip with friends planned for first of month. Husband narrowed up our sons wheel chair. He barley fit. Not a happy mom.

IMHO, absolutely not! You said the door size and the cost to make that change was part of the deal.....therefore, the dealer is not holding up their end of this and they either get it done or refund the money. I would not let them off the hook on this....one of those times it's worth pitching a fit over, if necessary. Surely somewhere in the ADA is something that will give you leverage. If the dealer doesn't come through, call the manufacturer. Again. If push comes to shove, maybe the word "attorney" would get their attention. If you financed this unit, contact your lender and see if they can help out....they have a stake in this, too. The amount they financed included something that is not actually there, right?

If it turns out that the manufacturer has no way to accommodate you in good faith, then your money needs to be returned from somewhere. Don't let this be, it's worth the effort.

Since it was part of the deal insist on some sort of compensation or have them make it right. Why let them get away with charging you for handicap access and not getting what is needed?

This was part of our deal when we bought trailer. It was in the price of trailer. So it is what it is now. We have delt with many handicap dealers in the past 25 years. Home lifts car lifts rv lifts. Van conversions. So not new to this. So now have to ride this out

You can also contact your State and Federal agency's for the Handicapped and depending on your income, you may quality for financial assistance if it is needed. Every little bit helps and that's why we pay taxes.

not sure where you live but as stated go to a handicap shop and they will make it work for you. many people have lifts installed in their TT's and you can take your son camping and let him experience the out doors too.

take your rv to a shop that deals in handicap vans etc, they,ll do you a fantastic job. and most likely cheaper than a rv shop.
