Jay Flight roof replacement UPDATE

Well I picked the trailer up the other day after several nervous weeks of waiting for them to replace the roof. I must say they did a fantastic job. I was very skeptical and really debated letting them do such an invasive job on a new camper. The best I can tell so far it looks perfect, better than new actually.
They removed the old sheeting, checked every screw head and sanded the plywood before reinstalling. Also, they found the ladder had a small stress crack on it and replaced it as well. One tech was assigned to the job and it wasn't rushed at all.

I thought it would be nice to have a positive thread on a dealership service department for a change!
  • Are you going to give us the name of the dealer that did the work? :)
  • I missed the part about why you had to replace the roof on a new camper...?
  • It's nice to hear that your dealership treated you well. By all means, give the dealership a plug and share the dealership's name and location (city).

I posted a thread a while back that didn't get many replies, mostly people telling me I was crazy for having the roof replaced.
I found a spot where something was protruding up and almost through the rubber. When I took it to be looked at he found a second. Both were places were where the plywood had splintered up. I strongly considered patching, but with one patch (from my mistake) already there, I didn't like the idea of a one year old camper with three patches already. Jayco quickly approved the work too I might add, somewhere around $6000 !!

Work was completed at Bill Plemmons RV in Rural Hall NC. by a Master RV tech.
  • It is nice to hear. It baffles me that so many stories like yours could just be avoided if quality was a higher priority on the assembly line. Can it really be cheaper for the industry to do things this way? Good to hear this problem was made right.

They seem to be a great dealer based on what I have seen on the interweb and I have gone up there several times looking. Nice dealership.
    Thanks for sharing.

  • I would suggest updating your old thread so you don't leave everyone hanging on the outcome...
  • Glad to hear that about Bill Plemmons. I have had two minor experiences with them, and both were very good.
  • Good to,hear they did a good job. They are just about 30 min from me. Thanks for putting up good news on them.
  • It's great to see some positive feedback about a dealer and a manufacturer warranty claim. I'm glad all turned out well.
