Jayco Jayflight SLX

I'm frustrated because I don't know where to start there's so many choices!

My standard answer is to rent a unit of similar size and weight to what you wish to buy. A week of towing, parking and camping will tell you more than all the reading and opinions you will get from others.

Careful with a 1/2-ton, the more important number is the payload, found on the yellow sticker on the drivers door jamb.
What model Jayco?

Can we have more info.what model jayco? is it just you? Or wife,kids,dogs look at the payload of your truck then try think of everything you want to bring with you people and stuff,it all takes away from your payload and adds up quickly.I would rent first to get a feel for what you want/,need.good luck feel free to ask questions we were all in your place at one time lots of good people and info here just ask

Not sure about model yet but we have a local dealer here in Fort Worth that gets good reviews from customers. The trucks trailer weight max is 8200. I'll check out the max weight on the yellow sticker. We're not going to do anything too big it's just me, the wife and one kiddo (11 yrs). We'd be bringing our dachshund too. Thanks guys we're very excited! Looking at the 17-19 foot Jaycos with bunks.

That sized trailer should easily be handled by your truck, along with a good WDH (weight distribution hitch) with sway control.

Be careful buying a small trailer, unless you plan to spend most of your time outside. Jayco TTs are usually well-liked. You may want to go to an RV show to see what's available before buying anything.

We have a Jayco 184BH. We have been very happy with it and have found it easy to tow even with something smaller than what you have. It's about the size you're looking at and has bunks. We travel with our 11 and 14 year old boys, and they have enough room.

There's also some SLXs that are smaller, but we liked that this one has a little couch, giving us someplace to sit when we are all in there. It's very, very small, but it fits our budget and has the basics that we need. We keep the dinette folded down as a bed and carry a couple of TV trays since we don't have a table inside with the bed folded down. Most of the time, we really aren't in the trailer all that much.

If we had a little more tow capacity, we'd really like a Jayco 264BH. Compared to our 184bh, this one has a dedicated bed for the adults instead of a fold-down dinette and has more room. It doesn't have any slides, so it stays pretty lightweight. You might check out the specs.
