Jensen Wall Mount Stereo issues

Hello all, We bought our 2013 Eagle Cap TC last April, new, first owners. All was good until mid June when the Jensen wall mount AM/FM/CD/DVD/USB model AMW975 stereo started coming on all by itself...it would turn on in the middle of the night and would continue to do so from that point on. We checked out the owners manual for clues, checked to see if an alarm or timer was set, nothing. It got so bad I had to pull the fuse. I reported the issue to my dealer who promptly had it replaced with a new stereo, same model number as the original directly from Jensen. I actually saw the new stereo being installed at the dealer when I stopped by to check on the status, this all took place in September. Now, while my TC is in winter storage beside my garage, I go out to take the trash out and the stereo is blaring through the outside speakers...I turn it off, check an hour later and its on again...and again this morning. So I'm pulling the fuse. Has anyone gone through this or have any suggestions? Merry Christmas and happy new Year every one. :?

My Jenson in my 2008 Lance worked flawlessly until a few months ago, and it is doing the same thing yours does. It just turns on by itself whenever it wants. I left it AUX mode so it would just sit there when it turns on instead of cycling the DVD or playing the radio. I was going to buy a newer one but bought a 12V TV/DVD LED combo and disconnected the power to the Jensen. However, I can't run the (2) camper speakers anymore with just the TV/DVD combo.

All, thanks for all the inputs, greatly appreciated. I was able to get in touch with a Jensen service technician this afternoon. He stated this is a common problem based on the way a camper manufacturer runs power to the unit. His suggestion was to place an in line on/off toggle switch within the red primary power wire. There is also a yellow wire that provides just enough power for the memory and clock. Eagle Cap has wired these two together so any influx of power allows the power to come on by itself. I do believe I will take the suggestion of some and just replace it with a better quality unit.

I pulled my Jensen out and Installed a double din unit. I had a local sign company make a plastic piece with the white line around it to match the other one. Looks factory...plays DVD's and has Pandora. Now the factory speakers are having issues with the new wattage.

After installing the same unit in my Cedar Creek bedroom the thing turned on at 3AM two nights in a row. :E

In your owners manual find "basic operation". You will see in bold type "Setting the Sleep Time" and "Setting the Alarm" follow the instructions on how to turn it OFF.:B

I once had a very similar issue with mine which has the glass front that just responds to touch. Is that the same deal with yours? My speakers would turn on and off, inside then outside all by itself. Anyway we would resolve it by disconnecting all power and unplugging from shore too. I installed a cut-off switch for that purpose. If I'd let it sit a few minutes and plugged it back in, then it'd be good to go for a few months. I have no clue why just pulling the fuse wouldn't do it for you though.

I was going to suggest to put the remote up before you go to sleep. The wife here is always going to sleep with the remote laying in the bed. As soon as she rolls over she is laying on the the remote haha...

It either turns on the TV or runs down the batteries in the remote.

No offense, but You may consider upgrading to something less clunky with a modern interface. Jensen is stuck in the 80's with regard to their tech and text/info diplays.

My Jensen has a standby and off mode. In standby, it can be awakened with the remote. When off, you have to push a button. If you are putting it in standby, you may have an IR light source that is triggering the radio.
