We blow out the lines and add the pink stuff mainly to make sure it get's into the water pump. We flush in the spring. We rarely drink from our tank only because we take bottled water to drink in order to use the tank to only flush with and wash dishes in order to extend our boondocking time. Also take extra gallons for dog drinking water.
