Just released my first YouTube video

For the last 11 years I've traveled all over the West in my TC for 5 to 6 months a year. I keep a good website that has a lot of pictures. Last winter I got the belated idea to make a YouTube video slideshow of some of the pictures. I started with one for my 2016 travels. It's finally done. It's a bit less than 16 minutes long. Of course with YouTube you can pause it and come back later, or stop it on a picture you want to look at longer.

I plan on doing a 2nd one later for my 2012 Alaska trip, that has loads of beautiful pictures. If you subscribe to my channel, you'll get automatic notification from YouTube when it's released. Since I won't be working on it while I'm ramblin' this year, however, the release probably won't be until early 2018.

View the video here or go directly to my channel (with only one video for now) here.

This is my first attempt at something like this. Your suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Thanks for watching,
  • Great photos, very enjoyable music, especially your Missing Montana song. Makes me want to fire up the Tiger and hit the road!

The only suggestion for improvement that comes to mind is to show brief captions saying which photo is where.

Thanks for all of the work you put into this video and your ramblin' maps.
  • I like your style!
Very nice collage and the music makes it even more pleasant to view! They are place of which I would like to camp.

Member Tiger above recognised one of the songs... perhaps you list them in the info on the Ytube version.
  • Thanks for the comments!

My daughter made the same one about photo captions. At that point, I was ready to stop fussing with it and release it, though. :)

I also thought about song credits at the end, but same reason for them not being there.

Thanks for watching and your input. Will include your suggestions in any future videos.

  • Hey Ralph, love following you along on your ramblings, and really enjoyed your video. That's got to be a fair piece of work on your part. Not going to be offering suggestions, cause I don't have the patience for it, but sure do appreciate your efforts...:)
  • It looks like a great trip. I only have one suggestion for the video. The Ken Burns effect gets old after the first few images. Mix it up with some different transition effects and a lot less of the Ken Burns.
  • Thanks for the additional comments and following my ramblin'. I'll try "intermittent Ken Burns" and mix in other transition types on the next one. It was just easier to stick with one type on my first try. :)
