This come as a choker to me. I was not aware that the key that open your outside storage compartment of my T.T. is a universal key. CH-751, why even bother locking this compartment if anyone else can walk around and open it with their own key. Ok maybe I am over paranoid ...This is sad:M

If you think about it, if someone wants in to a RV door or storage area, it doesn't matter much which lock you have...most can be defeated in seconds with other tools. Locks are really only good for keeping young children and honest folks from getting in.

I read about someone using a 4" round saw on a cordless drill and got in the deadbolt locked RV door in less than 30 seconds. The storage door locks can be twisted open with a screwdriver or locking pliers in the blink of an eye.

I remember when I owned a Coleman PU, I found out that everyone had the same key. Not that a PU was real secure to begin with...

I like the dual locks on the TT's two doors. Each door even has a different key. I placed a piece of yellow tape on the key to the main door so I don't have to figure out which key goes to which door each time. Regarding the storage areas, I don't store anything super expensive in them.

When leaving the TT, I try to hide anything of value such as electronics.

It's probably the most common lock out there. I use them on cabinets all the time in bars, restaurants offices and homes etc.
There are more key numbers available. If I carried about three numbers I could open almost any of the locks.
Easy enough and cheap enough to change the lock if it makes you feel better. May not actually improve security much though.
The locks should be available at most hardware stores for a few bucks.
Check the key number when buying, and the shaft length, so you get a proper fit.

Hi,

The locks prevent the turnbuckles from vibrating to the open position.

Even though the doors can be easily broken into, I still took all six locks into a lock smith and had them redone. four bucks a lock.

I would worry too much..if it was a really big issue, there would be more posts about things getting stolen, then walmart threads.

Some people do change the locks out
