Lance outdoor shower leaking

I have a 2013 Lance 855 and the outdoor shower is leaking with the knobs all the way closed. I noticed it on our first trip while hooked up to city water. It has a very slow drip when the hot and cold knobs are closed. I have temporarily disabled it with the valves under the wet bath sink. I'd like to fix it myself as my nearest lance dealer is 8 hours away. Is there a hardware store standard gasket in there that needs to be changed or what?
  • It's leaking out of the shower head. Like the knobs aren't closing all of the way. It was on city water and I just closed the inside valves and never checked it on the pump. I'll do that and see if that's the issue.
  • i just plugged the lines running to mine due to leaking. The handles would not close off the flow entirely, and I finally broke the CW valve trying to close it. I removed the valve that is plastic and very cheaply made. I will replace the entire unit with something more substantial.
  • It might just be the hose draining. It seems light mine drips forever. But then it stops.

Go and see if yours are tight. I had trouble getting some pliers in there because finger tight wasn't enough.

I think he means the nuts that screw onto the back of the shower unit faucet. I agree , start there and verify they're tight. Being new its a likely solution.

  • Being fairly new I would take apart (or verify you can) check for debris and flush lines. If you dont find anything then what you might need to replace would be revealed, or possibly if issue with faucet that needs replacing. If simple seat washer style-not a cartridge type, washer easily replaced. If it a flat washer some you can just flip over.
I also assume not over pressurized
  • question: are you using a pressure reducer on the hose from the spigot to the city water inlet? If not you should be, you could be over pressuring the system. especially if you only see the leak on city water and not when using the water pump and onboard tank.
  • If the handles can be removed from the hot and cold you might be able to tighten a nut that controls how much pressure is on the valve washer gasket thing inside the fixture. The outdoor shower units are pretty cheaply made though...they may not have removable handles?
