- ProavExplorerI too am in the market for a hitch extension. I will be pulling a 12’ utility trailer with a Teryx4 SxS. But, on occasion I will want to tow a flat bed car hauler with a 4 door Jeep on the trailer.
I’m thinking the Torklift superhitch is the minimum but would appreciate any input. - Grit_dogNavigatorThere are a few considerations, not the least of which is not wanting to have to much extension length. Only serves to add even more weight to the back of the truck.
Depends on trailer type as mentioned also, and weight of trailer. Do you need a super truss or is a solid bar extension sufficient?
Factory hitches are already good for 2000 lbs iirc tongue weight. Reduce for extension length, but you can haul a significant load without a super truss.
Food for thought - Supercharged111ExplorerThe trailer tongue length will drive the requirement in length. The extra width of the camper compared to just the truck creates issues too, so having it flush may not be enough.
- jayhawk75ExplorerDo you have the torklift tie downs? If so did you need to get the A7004 adapter kit? I see that it may be a requirement for the Rams with DRW's, if the campers measurement is 90" or less from the front to the rear tie down point.
- notevenExplorer IIIReally try to have the end of your receiver flush with the very end final last end of the tow vehicle... including camper bumper step, jacks, ladders, whatever ... ask how I know this ...
- jayhawk75ExplorerAppreciate the feedback!
- Geo_BoyExplorer IIChris, I have a AF990 with a Fox Landing and use a 36” long Super Truss. You could probably get away with a 32” but my trailer tracks really well with the extra length.
