Lippert axles-how to determine if you have a Super Lube hub

I've got a Lippert axle, and it has a plug and zerk fitting in the hub. However I've seen these setups in the past where that's just to 'top up' so you have to be very careful about blowing out past the seal.

It seems to be fairly common now that the hubs are desiged to expel grease out around the nut and the zerk connects behind the rear bearing.. so you can just pump grease in (while turning wheel) and sorta replace the grease. Dexter has EZ-Lube, Lippert has Super Lube.

As far as I know there's no sure way to tell from looking at the hub. Some of the rubber plugs will be branded Super Lube or the like however mine are plain. I sent off an email to Lippert to find out for sure.

On the axle 'info' label, above serial number is a long series of letters and numbers, in my case:

LCI35-SB-77.5-59.5-NOSP-US-L-545-729

The L bolded above indicates super lube. So now I know that 'in theory' I should be able to pump in grease without worrying too much about the seal.

As this is a lubrication subject there's probably a lot of controversy, please refrain from turning this into a discussion of the merits. My purpose was to just let others know this is how you can tell.
