I've been doing a lot of research (on this forum mainly) about necessary modifications and what people are realistically doing with the SRW trucks and truck campers. I've come to the realization that I will be putting 19.5's on, adding overload springs, and all that other good stuff in order to be safe and have a nice ride. The Lance 1050s looks like a nice way to go since it seems to be the lightest dry bath (requirement) with a slider. What I'm wondering is if there is a TC that has a rear slider for a couch, or more simply put, 2 different seating areas (to help break up the group and make everyone not feel as cramped and on top of each other) that a SRW can realistically haul?I'd want to be able to put 2 dirt bikes on the hitch as well, and if it were more than 2, I'd tow a trailer. Any advice would be mucho appreciated. thanks.

How about a Chalet 116DS or an Eagle Cap 1160 or 1165

Why Do you have to have two slides? Usually two slides makes it impossible to use the camper with the rooms in. A single slide will be less weight for your SRW truck, still have the possibility of using the camper with the room in.

Host Cascade, double slide, rear slide with couch. With 19.5" tires an SRW should have no problems.

Are you serious??You may get away with a heavy dual slide camper but two dirt bikes on the hitch?600# 7-8 feet from the hitch will equal a catastrophe!!!

Can't comment on the camper , but got to go along with DJ on the bike thing, not going to work, just pull the trailer with any bikes. Maybe 1 up front as I do but not 2 hanging of the back, not smart, JMO

That is exactly my point. The new duallys are much heavier rated than the old ones and with the weight of a diesel engine, the dually is necessary for any heavy camper. I have a one ton SRW truck and I really like it, but I am willing to admit that it has limitations that I'm not willing to exceed.

Oh I agree with you I had a 2011 F350 SRW with a gasser and with my Northern Lite I was about 500# over my GVWR. I had air bags on it along with stabile loads. I also had 19.5s on it so it handled the load fine. We took it 11,000 miles this year to Alaska and never had a lick of a problem. Now we are getting an enclosed trailer to haul toys so this would end up putting more load on the rear of the truck. Hence a dually truck was in my future. So we got the 2013 Ram dually and no I'm under my GVWR by about 1800#. Shouldn't have any problems with a trailer now.

Butch, our 2013 Chevy 3500HD (dually) has a GVWR of 13,025.

I find that interesting that your one ton Ford finds a 2,900# camper too much to handle. I carry a Northstar Igloo (that wet is around 3,000#) on my 1997 Chevy 3/4HD (super springs and helwig sway bar) and it handles it beautifully. I know that I wouldn't want to go any heavier with my rig.

If I add 500# plus people I'm way over the gross weight.
