Hi Everyone.
I will be looking at a 2012 Keystone Passport 3220BH tomorrow or Wednesday. I think it is priced right and hoping if it fits the need they can throw in some of the supplies and such inside. We have had a pop-up before and borrowed my father TT from time to time. Time to step up and get our own. You can ***Link Removed***

Any expert advice on what I should look for when checking it out.
What to look for on the roof
Rot underneath
Signs of leaking in the corners
Cabinet condition
Operations of HVAC, Water Heater, Fridge(s), etc.
Anything to look for on the slide operation?

Thank you in advance and hope to participate as an owner soon (either this one or another!).

Checked it out today. Camper layout is awesome. I really liked it. As luck has it, I did find a spot in the front, where it transitions from fiberglass to the roof that the dicor was cracked. The tell tale signs inside of drip marks down the wall. Plus it felt soft on the right side. But the strange part to me, they had some magazines up in that cabinet on the right side that I thought was worse and they were dry, no wrinkles, not damp, nothing...and we just had a tropical storm go by that dumped 8" of rain on the area. I went with me gut feeling as much as it wanted it and walked for now. I may get it looked at professionally as a friend knows someone. If it is a matter of just sealing it up and not worry about the spot I may move forward. Right decision, I guess so but man I liked it overall...brand new marathon tires, newer battery, memory foam mattress. It was nice.

If you don't mind me asking, what price point is the dealer at with this used unit? Remember, it's a solid 4-5 years old. I did a search on CL for a Passport 3220 in the Tampa/Sarasota/Bradenton area (close to Apollo Beach). I had one hit for $17,500. At that price, you'd better hope the dealer has one impeccable unit with new tires and battery.

Remember, these are ultra light travel trailers. They do not hold their value very well. Especially as they age.

Prior to buying my new 16 Keystone Bullet 308BHS (the Passport 3220 twin), I looked at bunkhouses 3 to 4 years old. I shopped the Michigan market on CL and RVTrader. Then I looked at new units at a few wholesale dealers in my area. For $4-5000 more, I justified the purchase of a warrantied new unit. The new units are just that, NEW. They include all the newest bells and whistles of the RV industry, electric this, electric that, LED this, LED that.

For $21,900, I custom ordered my Bullet to my specs. The warranty was included, the dealer gave me an awesome deal on an electric tongue jack, and the black tank had never been used! 🙂

Just something to think about prior to your purchase.

The 17,500 one is the one I am looking at today. What are your thoughts on that one? BTW, it has a new battery and tires 😉

This Spring, we were looking to buy another TT and looked at 3 Passports.
ALL of them had issues with the roof...go over it with a fine-toothed comb!
There should be no "softness" where the roof transitions from membrane to fiberglass. Check all the caulking near penetrations.
What gave it away for me was as soon as I drove up...I could see rusted screws in the sidewall panels and at the pass-throughs. That tells me there is water getting into the walls somehow.
